‘Moon Sails’ is the latest single from Rachael Dadd. It’s a beautiful track that leans heavily into its retro feel and sound. Simple guitar strumming makes up the majority of the accompaniment, with gritty synths appearing occasionally to juxtapose her soft, airy lead vocal. The texture she is able to craft is warm and nostalgic, with the influence of everyone from Kate Bush to Boards Of Canada being felt. Rachael’s upcoming album, Kaleidoscope, drops on October 14th, 2022 via Memphis Industries. On one of the themes on the album, she says: “The image of the sky appears many times on the album, representing boundless freedom from the mundanity and struggles of being human. Music, too, provides escapism and freedom, and I like that while both music and the sky can be boundless, they are also containers to preserve all the very best things.
